Change Location on Wallapop: Sell Across the Whole Country

Why Change Your Location?

Wallapop shows listings based on the buyer's location. If you post from Madrid, users in Barcelona, Valencia or Seville will not see your products unless they specifically search across the whole country.

Most buyers search in their local area (within a 5–30 km radius). This means that a listing pinned to a single city is missing out on 95% of the potential market.

Changing your location is especially useful for items that can be shipped: electronics, clothing, collectibles, etc. If you only sell furniture with in-person pick-up, it makes less sense to move the location far from your actual area.

Manual Location Change

From the MitikLive dashboard you can change the location of all your listings with a single click. The system uses an interactive map powered by Leaflet where you can:

1. Search for a city: Type the name in the search box and select it from the list
2. Click on the map: Tap directly on any point on the map
3. Apply: The location is updated instantly across all your active listings

The change is immediate. Within seconds, your listings will appear to buyers in the new area. You do not need to edit each listing individually.

Automatic Location Rotation

Automatic rotation is the most powerful feature for professional sellers. Instead of manually changing your location, the system rotates among your selected cities automatically.

How do you set it up?

1. Enable the toggle for automatic rotation in the dashboard
2. Choose the interval: How often to rotate (30 min, 1h, 2h or 4h)
3. Select cities: Add the cities where you want to appear
4. Order with drag & drop: Drag the cities to define the rotation order

Once configured, the rotation runs in the background. You do not need to keep the dashboard open or stay on top of it. The system changes the location automatically according to the interval you have set.

Extension vs Mobile App

The location feature is available in both the browser extension and the MitikLive Android app, but with some technical differences:

The Android app has the advantage that rotation works even with the screen off, thanks to the foreground service. In the extension, Chrome must be running.

Tips to Maximise Sales with Location

1. Combine rotation + renewal: Change the location AND renew your listings to appear at the top in each new city.
2. Prioritise large cities: Madrid and Barcelona account for 40% of Wallapop activity. Make sure they are on your list.
3. Tailor by product: Winter clothing rotates towards the north; beach items towards the coast.
4. Smart scheduling: Combine rotation with the best times to post.
5. State "Ships nationwide": In your listing descriptions, make it clear that you ship. Buyers from other cities will appreciate it.
6. Monitor results: If a city generates no messages after 1 week, replace it with another.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Wallapop detect the location change?

Wallapop natively allows users to change the location of their listings. MitikLive simply automates this process. There is no risk of being penalised.

Can I select cities from different countries?

Yes. You can mix cities from Spain, Italy and Portugal in the same rotation list. This is useful if you sell products that can be shipped internationally.

How many credits does each location change consume?

Each location change consumes the same number of credits as a renewal. The 10€ free sign-up credit is enough to test the feature for several weeks.

Can I use rotation with multiple accounts?

Yes. You can set up independent rotation for each account. Each account can have its own list of cities and its own interval. See the multiple accounts guide for more details.

Does it work with Wallapop shipping?

Yes. Changing the location does not affect Wallapop's shipping option. Buyers can still purchase with shipping regardless of where your listing appears.
