Why Back Up Your Vinted Wardrobe
Your Vinted wardrobe represents a lot of work:
- Carefully taken photos
- Detailed descriptions
- Optimised prices
- Tags and categories
Losing this information can happen due to:
- Accidental deletion of items
- Problems with your Vinted account
- Re-listing (you need your saved data)
- Switching accounts or devices
⚠️ Important:
Vinted does not offer any option to export or back up your items. MitikLive is the only solution to protect your wardrobe.
What Information Is Saved in the Backup
MitikLive creates a structured backup of each item. Unlike simply saving a screenshot, the backup stores editable data that you can modify before re-listing.
Item data
- Full title and formatted description
- Sale price and shipping price
- Size and measurements table if available
- Brand and model
- Item condition (new, like new, good condition, etc.)
- Vinted category and subcategory
- Colours, materials and other specific attributes
Images
- All item photos in their original resolution
- Original photo order preserved
- Cloud storage accessible from any device
Backup metadata
- Original publication date on Vinted
- Vinted item ID (useful for reference)
- Vinted account the item belongs to
- Re-listing history (how many times it has been renewed)
- Date of the last successful backup
💾 Storage:
Backups are stored on MitikLive's secure servers. They take up no space on your computer and are available as long as your account is active. You can access them from the web dashboard or from the extension.
How to Create a Backup
Backing up a single item
- Navigate to the page of the item you want to save on Vinted
- Click the MitikLive icon in your extensions bar
- In the side panel, select "Save this item"
- Wait for the visual confirmation (the item switches to "saved" status)
Useful when you have just published a new item and want to make sure you have a copy before moving on to the next one.
Full wardrobe backup
- Go to your profile on Vinted and open "My wardrobe"
- Click the MitikLive icon to open the panel
- Select "Full wardrobe backup"
- Choose whether to include previously saved items (update) or only new ones
- Wait for the progress bar to reach 100%
- Review the final summary: items saved, photos stored and any errors
⏱️ Estimated time:
Approximately 2-3 seconds per item. A wardrobe with 100 items takes around 4-5 minutes. If you have 300 or more items, we recommend leaving the process running in the background — you do not need to stay on the tab.
Restoring Items from a Backup
If you lose items due to accidental deletion, an account issue or a device change, you can recover them from the backup in just a few minutes:
- Access the MitikLive panel from the extension or from the website
- Go to "My Backups" → select the corresponding Vinted account
- Use the filters to find the item or items you want to recover
- Select the ones you want to restore
- Click "Re-list selected"
- Confirm: the items will be created as new listings in your wardrobe with all their data
Restored items will appear fresh on Vinted with today's date, as if you had just uploaded them, giving them maximum visibility from the very first moment. If you restore an item you have already sold, review the price before confirming to make sure it is still competitive.
Tips and Best Practices
Automatic weekly backup
Do a full backup at least once a week, especially if you add new items frequently. You can set a calendar reminder or take advantage of the same moment you do your weekly re-listing to also run the backup.
Update the backup before re-listing edited items
If you have modified the price, description or photos of an item directly on Vinted since the last backup, back up the item before re-listing. Otherwise, the backup will save the previous version and you could lose your changes.
Check backup photos periodically
After each bulk backup, open a few random items in the MitikLive panel and check that the images have been saved correctly. In very rare cases (items with protected images), the backup may save the rest of the information but omit some photos.
Do not delete backups of items already sold
Keep your backups even after an item has been sold. You may want to re-list a similar product in the future, or need to recover the original photos for another sales channel. Backup storage space has no additional cost.
Use the backup as a catalogue database
The MitikLive panel lets you search and filter your full catalogue (including items already sold) by category, brand, price or keywords. It is a very practical way to see what you have sold before or to reuse descriptions from similar items.
Frequently Asked Questions about Vinted Wardrobe Backup
Is the MitikLive backup free?
Yes, backing up your wardrobe does not use credits or incur any additional cost. Credits are only charged when you re-list an item. You can create as many backups as you like without worrying about the cost, which means you can always keep an up-to-date copy with complete freedom.
What happens to my backup if I cancel my MitikLive account?
If you close your account, your backup data is deleted from MitikLive's servers. Before cancelling, we recommend exporting the relevant information from the panel (you can download a CSV with the data for all your items). The original photos will remain available on Vinted as long as the listing is still active.
Can I back up items that have already been sold or deleted?
Not directly. The backup process reads the active items in your wardrobe on Vinted at the time it runs. If the item no longer exists on Vinted (because it was sold or deleted), a retroactive backup is not possible. That is why it is important to back up frequently and not wait until items have disappeared.
Does the backup also save the message history and reviews?
No. The MitikLive backup focuses on item data (photos, description, attributes, price) to allow re-listing. Messages with buyers and the review history are data that belong to Vinted and are not part of the item backup.
Can I restore an item to a different Vinted account from the original?
Yes. From the MitikLive panel you can choose which Vinted account you want to publish the restored item to, regardless of which account it originally belonged to. This is useful if you reorganise your catalogue across different specialised wardrobes.
